Megan Fox

Megan Fox has captured our hearts over the years with performances in movies like Transformers and Rogue. If you thought she was one of the popular girls in high school, seeing as she has become a Hollywood sweetheart, think again.

Megan grew up in a strict Pentecostal household, and when her family moved to Port St. Lucie, she joined the cheerleading squad in Morningside Academy. However, making the cut to be a cheerleader didn’t save teenage Megan from being bullied in school by other kids. You can imagine the joy when she finally graduated and landed a role in Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen alongside Lindsay Lohan!

Olivia Wilde

Olivia Wilde's charisma didn't start from the movie scenes. She was a stepper in Phillips Academy- an elite institution. There's even a picture of a former president in the school's club outfit as head cheer, much like the one, Olivia wore in her school picture. Looking at those throwback photos, she seemed to love every second of performing; she even said that being part of the step club was similar to cheerleading.

If you watch the series House, you're definitely acquainted with the actress and movie producer. And now you know Wilde even better with these juicy facts from her teenage years!

Lindsay Lohan

Actress, Musician, and Entrepreneur Lindsay Lohan had a busy life growing up. At age 10, Lindsay was already signed as a model and worked with popular brands like Pizza Hut and Calvin Klein.

During the musician's high school days, she enrolled in the cheerleading squad for both schools she attended: Cold Spring Harbor High School and Sanford H. Calhoun High School. However, she switched to home-schooling and abandoned her love for cheer. Lindsay then got a big break in the movie industry with her debut in The Parent Trap, which must have brought a different kind of joy into her life.

Olivia Munn

The proud Asian American actress, Olivia Munn, was also a cheerleader at her high school. Growing up, she moved to Tokyo with her dad, where he was positioned in the Air Force. They later moved back to Oklahoma City, where she was born. In her teenage years, Munn attended Putnam City North High School and went hard with the school cheerleading team's pom-poms.

With a first degree in journalism, she landed a job as a TV Host - a career path abandoned for showbusiness that paved the way to her role as the lead actress in Iron Man!

Meryl Streep

Meryl Streep, who has risen to fame to become an acclaimed actress in our generation, could never be recognized in cheerleader outfits. She attended Bernards High School in Bernardsville, New Jersey, where she caught the entertainment bug, singing in her school choir and appearing in musicals.

A photo of Meryl has revealed that the Hollywood star used to be a member of the cheerleading squad and looked so fierce at it. In her senior year, she was even elected homecoming queen. There’s no doubt Meryl was phenomenal back in the day too and excelled at whatever she put her mind to.

Kathy Griffin

Kathleen Mary Griffin, popularly known as Kathy Griffin, is a famous American comedian and actress. She's known for Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List, which won the Primetime Emmy Award. We bet you've spotted her in films like Pulp fiction, The Intern, and lots more. However, Kathy's not commonly known for her achievements as a teenager.

She attended Oak Park and River Forest High School in Oak Park, Illinois, where she was active as a cheerleader for both school teams. A throwback picture shows the controversial comedian as a 17-year old girl in her cheerleading uniform posing for the camera with her schoolmates in perfect formation.

Alicia Silverstone

America's evergreen beauty, Alicia Silverstone, showed her patriotic side while in high school as a cheerleader; displaying the school spirit was essential to her. She always cheered for her fellow Bearcats of San Mateo High School in her red, white, and blue uniform!

Alicia went on to win the MTV Movie Best Breakthrough award in 1994 based on her debut film appearance, The Crush. Who knew her enthusiasm for cheerleading would lead to a successful line of work in Hollywood? She has also has acted in a long list of films, attesting to the blond-haired beauty's career success in the entertainment industry.

Chrissy Teigen

Every time the gorgeous Chrissy Teigen posts a picture on social media, she seems to break the internet. Only recently, the stunning model shared an adorable photo of herself from the time as a high school cheerleader. Yes, that is right, not many of her fans know this fact.

Well, looking at this image, we have to say that all the women in this picture are breathtaking, but Chrissy’s out-of-this-world smile is easily the winner. Her school’s white and red is not only classic but the whole crew is also looking no less than the Spice Girls.

Kirstie Alley

Long before entering show business, Kristie Alley cheered on her high school’s athletic team in Kansas. Perhaps, that is why she decided to drop out of Kansas State University to pursue a career in the film industry. Given her stunning looks and presence, it did not take her long to replace the famous actress Shelly Long on the cast of Cheers.

Interestingly, this show garnered her one Emmy win and four nominations. Since then, Kristie has not only been unstoppable but just like her cheerleading days, she continues to stun every passerby!

Eva Longoria

Best known for her role as Gabrielle in the ever-popular, Desperate Housewives, Eva Longoria did not treat cheerleading as an extracurricular activity, unlike many others. She enjoyed performing in front of people and receiving applause. The Mexican-born actress continued to cheerlead during her college days and eventually ended up in Hollywood.

Here is an interesting fact for you; during her college days in Texas, Eva won the Miss Corpus Christi pageant. And days after the event, a theatrical agent discovered her in Los Angeles, and the rest is history at its best.

Rachael Ray

As many of Rachael Ray’s fans know, she spent her childhood in Lake George, New York. Besides, she also went to school there and was a cheerleader. Isn’t it cool? If you look at the picture closely, it is not hard to see the striking resemblance to what Racheal looks like these days with her small button nose and her short yet shiny hair.

We are sure that it was evident from her early school days that she was born to be a star. Currently, the gorgeous Racheal is a well-known culinary expert and has several shows on the Food Network.

Ciara

Almost everyone agrees that cheerleading is a great sport, primarily because of the dancing, energy, and all the fun involved in it. And maybe this is what attracted Ciara because she was the captain of the Riverdale High School cheerleading team. But in an interview, the songstress revealed that she could not focus much on it because her singing became the priority.

Ciara may have traded her pom-poms, but we guess that focusing more on her music career turned out to be a wise choice as she has risen to unimaginable heights in the music industry.

Kathie Lee Gifford

Thanks to her superhit show Live! With Regis and Kathie Lee, she became a household name in the US. Even though Kathie was born in Paris, she moved to Maryland with her parents when she was just four years old. But at fourteen years old, she was the leader of her high school cheerleading team.

Not only this, but Kathie also won a junior pageant in the '70s, and it would be fair to say that this was the event that opened the way for her success. Given her passion for dancing and everything stage-related, Kathie decided to study drama and music in university.

Sandra Bullock

Sandra Bullock is indeed among the greatest American actresses of all time. But not many of her fans know that the Oscar-winning Sandra was the star of her high school before she ever became a superstar in Hollywood. The Blind Side actress was a cheerleader at her school in Virginia.

Since her young days, Sandra was pretty much involved in a host of co-curricular activities. Well, we think that has helped the diva a lot in making a name for herself in show business. If you look at her picture from the old days, it is easy to find the beauty we still see today!

Halle Berry

Most of you will be surprised to find out numerous things about the ever-gorgeous Halle Berry’s teenage days. The immensely talented star almost did it all during her time in Bedford High School. Interestingly, she was the prom queen, cheerleader, editor of the school’s newspaper, and an honors student. Well, that is impressive!

Soon, the young Halle made her small screen debut, which paved the way for her first silver-screen appearance in Jungle Fever. Apart from that, the outstanding actress also became the first woman of her origin to receive an Academy Award for her exceptional performance in Monster's Ball.

Fergie

If Fergie’s fans think that she is a knockout these days, then they should look at this picture from her high school days. We all know that it is quite hard to participate in extra-curricular activities and maintain top grades at the same time. But it seems that was not a big deal for Fergie as she was an A-list student as well as a member of the school’s cheerleading squad.

After completing her education, the gorgeous star replaced Kim Hill and gave super hits like Shut Up and Where is the love? We think that Fergie’s time as a cheerleader has surely helped her bloom into the icon she is!

Madonna

During her childhood, Madonna grew up as the child of blue-collar Italian immigrants in the US. When she joined the Rochester High School, young Madonna was not only the best academic but also the head cheerleader of the school. Thanks to her hard work and passion for dancing, she received a dance scholarship from the University of Michigan.

But years later, Madonna decided to drop out of university and moved to the city of dreams in the late '70s. It was in New York where she started to develop into an extraordinary pop icon, and soon she became known as the Material Girl we all adore!

Jenna Dewan

Besides the captivating beauty, her dancing skill is what makes Jenna Dewan famous! In fact, every time people hear her name, the first thing that comes to their mind is the Step Up movie. The film’s final scene indeed requires high-level hip-hop moves, and she was able to execute it perfectly and gracefully.

As expected, Jenna has quite a convincing background when it comes to dancing. Before starring in the blockbusters, this celebrity was a dancer in various music videos. Despite never touching a formal performing arts education, she successfully competed with others and eventually surpassed most of them!

Danielle Brooks

Danielle Brooks may be a prominent actress today, but of course, there is an inspirational story behind it. She was a pro cheerleader for quite some time and decided to give up the job due to her self-doubt whenever wearing a short skirt. Since then, she promised herself never to do the same thing (quitting) again in her life.

Danielle then changed direction by joining the prestigious Julliard School and started acting. Despite several ups and downs, she stayed strong due to her self-conviction and finally attained success in various television series, including Orange Is the New Black!

Melissa Rycroft

Melissa Rycroft is undoubtedly a multitalented celebrity, and her portfolio shows it! Besides her appearance as a host on Redneck Island, this lovely lady has starred in various television shows, including the top-rated competition scheme, Dancing With the Stars.

Contrary to other artists who usually started their entertainment career by becoming a cheerleader, Melissa found the joy of dancing for the first time when she was in the drill squad! But don’t get it wrong – there is a special force there which requires one to be proficient in pom dance. And as all could guess, she excelled in that role!

Lucy Hale

Lucy Hale had already joined the entertainment world when she was very young, precisely when she was still in her teens. She became the school's cheerleader and showcased her voice in American Juniors, which was probably among the most popular US competitions at that time. Despite not attaining the first place, she obtained something way more worthy: a plethora of experience!

Obviously, with the knowledge that Lucy gained, this actress could finally attain success in the American entertainment industry. Apart from creating an album entitled Road Between, she has also starred in various hit-series, one of which is Pretty Little Liars.

Reese Witherspoon

In 2015, Reese Witherspoon successfully created an uproar on the internet due to her post. Of course, that wasn’t an awful picture - she only uploaded her childhood memory when the actress was a general cheerleader in the school. Believe it or not – the aura of stardom was apparent even in that black and white photo!

Even though Reese rarely showcases these dancing skills in public anymore, that doesn’t mean that the ability is non-existent. In fact, it helps her a lot in nailing the roles, mainly if the movie character requires her to act agilely.

Kelly Ripa

Kelly Ripa has shown talents in performing arts since she was a kid, as the artist was once among the school’s primary cheerleading teams. She didn’t even think to translate her skill to a job at first, yet one person changed everything: her teacher!

This important person is Jim Beckly, who happened to be a drama instructor. At that time, he was the one who encouraged Kelly to pave her career in the entertainment industry. Without his contribution, we probably won’t even see Kelly in television shows, let alone hosting her own prime-time program, Live With Kelly and Ryan!

Blake Lively

Apart from being a talented actress and having given some blockbusters, Blake Lively added another feather to her cap with cheerleading. The moment she made it to Burbank High School, her fellow mates would always find her in the blue cheerleader costume!

It seems Lively was meant to be in the limelight, all thanks to her well-known parents. She is undoubtedly the Jill of all trades, and there is nothing she cannot do! It would be quite a treat to see Serena van der Woodsen dancing around with pom-poms, don’t you think so?

Renee Zellweger

Renée Zellweger was from Katy High School in Texas, and apart from regular classes, she was always found cheerleading! As a member of the squad, this multitalented lady was very thorough with all her moves! The Bridget Jone’s Diary fame has never failed to impress her fans, and we are confident she would have commanded the same attention as a cheerleader.

We wished to get a glimpse of Renée doing her flips and dips from her good old days, but the least we could get her was her showing off cheerleading skills on the Jimmy Fallon Show. And she definitely does it right!

Amy Poehler

We know Amy Poehler for several popular shows like 30 Rock and Parks and Recreation. What happened to be a lesser-known fact about this talent house is her exceptional cheerleading skills. No matter what she does, she leaves the audience amazed, as always.

She was enrolled in Burlington High School, and that is where her journey as part of the cheerleading squad commenced. Amy graduated from Boston College, where she pursued a degree in Communications. We wonder if this is where she learned her spot-on comic timing and hilarious jokes.

Diane Sawyer

Who knew cheerleading could be the perfect solution to feel more confident and get rid of loneliness? Ask Diane Sawyer! After being a part of the cheerleader squad for Seneca High School in Louisville, she witnessed the first-ever experience of fame! And knowing the star, there is no doubt that she must've been great at this as well!

Post her cheerleading gig, 1978 was when we first saw her onscreen for ABC News and we still do! Probably, the initial taste of popularity as a cheerleader might have helped Diane to make a super successful career for herself!

Jennifer Lawrence

Imagine The Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence cheerleading on the football field! Well, not many know, but this was the reality back in her school days. Not just a skilled cheerleader, she had her foot fixed in almost every sport as a player - softball, basketball; you name it!

We wonder if Jennifer got time for academics because she was always caught up with a tight extracurricular schedule. Now the little cheerleader has left the fans spellbound with some back-to-back hits like Silver Linings Playbook and X Men: Dark Phoenix. If only if we could see her cheerleading skills somehow!

Miley Cyrus

She has been a singer, actress, and guess what more? A cheerleader too! That’s Miley Cyrus for you! Do not get swayed away by her current bold outfit choices because once upon a time; she was this adorable cheerleader! It was not just because of her father, Billy Ray Cyrus but even her field experience that made Miley get used to fame.

Cyrus belonged to a tiny place named Franklin, and she was in the cheerleading squad for the Tennessee Premier soccer team. We wonder how many of her fans would want the star to go back to this cute cheerleader look or stick to her daring dress decisions!

Dakota Fanning

It is a dream come true for just anyone to have a sorted career at an early age itself. That was the case with the fortunate and multitalented Dakota Fanning. In fact, after featuring in some TV shows like The Practice and Spin City, she continued to focus on finishing her education.

She did not just pay attention to academics though, and was even a fantastic cheerleader for Campbell Hall School. Not only this, she was even titled the Homecoming Queen! After this reveal, we would really like to know what more about her hidden talents and skills!
