Farthest Arrow Shot Using Feet
In March 2018, Brittany Walsh, a circus performer, shot an arrow using just her feet. The arrow made its journey for about 12.31 meters (40 feet, 4.64 inches) till it landed on the ground. Displaying such a spectacle after 11 years of practice, Walsh made it into the Guinness Book of World Records!
The astonishing incident took place at Creston School in Portland, Oregon. Since becoming a world record holder in acrobatic archery, Brittany's life-size wax statue was put together by Ripley's Believe It or Not, which has since been on-tour in many museums.
Man With Highest Number Of Tattoos
Lucky Diamond Rich, an Australian performer, rose to fame when he made his way into the Guinness Book of World Records as the most tattooed man. Rich began his career as a circus performer at the age of 16. He soon began exploring various disciplines of circus performance, from gigs such as unicycling to even sword-swallowing!
It was then when he got his first tattoo. Two years later, he got another one. And just like this, through the passage of time and 1000 hours of body modifications later, he became a record holder! Lucky now has his entire skin is covered with this ancient form of body art.
Largest Toothpick Beard
In July 2018, Joel Strasser became a world record holder when he inserted about 3,500 toothpicks in his beard. This bizarre act occurred in the Lacey region of Washington - Having a dense and bushy beard, Strasser was able to achieve the feat with two other people's help.
According to him, it took almost 3 hours and 13 minutes to place all the toothpicks in his beard. As absurd as it sounds, this act made him a part of the Guinness Book of World Records and now a part of this list!
A Pig Performs Record-Breaking Tricks In Under A Minute
Guess Pigs are a lot more capable than we thought! Joy Bleeker, and Dawn Bleeker, her owner, secured their names in the Guinness Book of World Records for performing 13 tricks in one minute. Hailing from the Iowa state of the United States, Joy is a 5-year-old adorable pig that awed the world with her exceptional talents in January 2018!
Among the performed tricks were sitting, shaking hands, walking in reverse, dancing, honking the horn, playing the piano, and removing a ring – much more than an average human could perform!
Highest Jump On a Pogo Stick
Pogo pro-athlete Biff Hutchison from Idaho, U.S., stunned the world in 2018 when he made the highest jump on a pogo stick. The estimated height of the leap turned out to be 11.15 feet (3.36 m). Biff surpassed his own record with this record-breaking feat, which stood at 9.7 feet, that he had made in 2015. Talk about being an over-achiever!
Hutchison had been practicing his jumps on the pogo stick ever since the age of 10. It's even believed that Biff's mother refuses to watch his competitions as he sustained various injuries due to his passion for pogo sticks. Nonetheless, we are sure she's proud of him today!
Not An Easy World Record
Some people like to get a fresh haircut every week while others want to grow them for months and even years sometimes. But taking care of your long hair can be challenging for some people as it requires a lot of care and, obviously, pretty expensive hair products.
It seems that this adorable young woman from India had all the resources and patience to grow and take care of her hair. Interestingly, her hair is of the same height as an average male these days, five feet and seven inches. Yes, you heard it right! We all would surely love some tips from this lady!
World Record Holder Horse!
Typically, horses are pretty muscular animals and famous for their stamina and strength. But this horse is not a baby horse; instead, he is a fully-grown up one. Interestingly, he's among the handful of small horses alive on this planet because most of them are born with severe biological complications and can't survive for very long.
However, we have to say that the owner took excellent care of her little friend. He seems not only healthy but also happy with his mama. We wish this duo luck and hope that they get to keep the world record forever!
Pro Drummer
Let us start by saying that this man is a living example of how to achieve your dreams and passion despite facing numerous hurdles in your way. Even after losing his hand, the determined gentleman was not ready to give up on his dream of becoming a well-known drummer.
Well, here we are, celebrating his will power and his achievement. The prosthetic you see in this picture was made by himself, and interestingly, he made a world record of most beats in a minute using his mechanical arm. Isn’t it inspiring for so many of us?
Biggest Table Tennis Bat
In the extreme world, this one stands out - a giant ping pong bat that is even bigger than the player. Quite ironic, right? Well, to get to the Guinness Book of World Records, you go all the way!
It appears quite heavy, and if you are not the muscular type, you might even have trouble getting it off the ground. Do you see how the well-built man in the picture is sort of struggling? That might give you an idea of how heavy this bat is. Its record size does not look like it will be surpassed any time soon. How did they even make it?
A Record Collection Of Transformers Merchandise
This one takes it! For fans of the action movie franchise The Transformers, this is as close to paradise as it gets. This hardcore fan has the most memorabilia of the action film in the world- 2,111 pieces to be exact.
You can barely make individual pieces, but there is the owner, standing proud with his Guinness World Records certificate, proudly displaying his epic collection. Let’s hope he allows visitors to admire this merchandise; otherwise, what would be the use if you will lock it in a room? Should you want to see some of the rarest Transformers collectibles, look for this guy!
Lightning Fast Pasta Gobbler
You probably can’t do it faster than this lady right here who holds the Guinness World Record of clearing a whole plate of pasta in the shortest time. She did it in a record time of a little under thirty seconds!
She would easily be the top contender in a food competition, given her impressive speed. If you are thinking of beating her time, think again. Pasta can easily choke you, and we would highly recommend having a friend nearby just in case things go south. Still, you will need all the luck in the world to make it happen!
Most Big Macs Devoured In A Lifetime
The record for the person who has consumed the most MacDonald’s big mac belongs to Donald A. Gorske, an American citizen who has eaten Big Macs in their thousands.
The exact figure stands at 26,000, and word on the street is that he is still adding to the tally. What did it take? About four decades of daily consumption! However, this is a record we’d advise you to stay away from, especially if you are looking to lose weight. You could set yourself up for another record for the most vegetables consumed, and by the look of things, it is not entirely impossible!
Most Apples In The Mouth, Cut Using A Chainsaw
Some records in the Guinness tabs border on the dangerous side, and this is one perfect example. This guy holds the record for the most apples cut by a chainsaw while held by the mouth, and as you can see, one slip up may be fatal.
No wonder it took a performance artist to pull it off, with the hero of the show being London-based Johnny Strange, who is no stranger to danger. This is one record you shouldn’t attempt to break, and you should leave it to the experts who know their way around the perils involved.
Stretchiest Skin In The World?
It is not often that a body disorder can get you to set a world record, but here we have an exception! A Brit man named Garry Turner can stretch his stomach skin to 6.25 inches due to Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, a rare condition that makes him a world record holder.
This problem is due to a connective tissue disorder that loosens the skin and makes it super stretchable. Turner has received immense attention at different family get-togethers thanks to this never seen before skin. We just hope it does not hurt him each time he stretches his skin to show around!
Most Piercings Ever
When we talk about world records, one cannot give this a miss! Elaine Davidson, a restaurant owner previously, has endless body piercings. As of June 8, 2006, she had got piercings done 4,225 times while there are some people, who are scared to even get one. Can you imagine?
What is even more interesting to know is that even today, she keeps getting new piercings done, despite already having so many. We really wonder if she sees anything else apart from jewelry hanging from the body each time she looks in the mirror.
Teeth For Lifting Tables
There is no limit to bizarre world records and running a long distance while having a table clenched using teeth has to be one. We have Georges Christen, who ran 38 feet and 8 inches while carrying a 26-pound table in his mouth back in 2008. Wait, there is more!
The table had a woman of 110 pounds sitting on it, and we really wonder how his teeth did not fall off. Also, hats off to the woman for agreeing to sit on the table because one slip could have made her fall flat on the floor too!
Metal Coil Through the Face!
Did you know passing a metal coil via the nose and out of the mouth is a thing? Andrew Stanton passed the length of 11 feet and 10.9 inches of a metal coil, through his nasal canal which is the longest ever!
This man is a sideshow performer in Las Vegas, a place where these talents are really admired by people there. Little did he know that these skills are going to get him to be a world record holder. There is no doubt that this looks super painful but looking at him, he seems to enjoy it more than anything!
Longest Nails
When you have untrimmed nails, it can get really frustrating! Imagine not trimming them for 30 long years- ah, that sounds impossible. Lee Redmond grew her nails for this long till they were 28 feet, 4.5 inches, making a world record in her name.
We wonder how she was able to work with those lengthy nails because even with a bare minimum nail growth, it becomes impossible to do so many tasks. Her nails broke in 2009 in a car accident and that we feel is a blessing in disguise. At least, she can get some work done now!
A Great Many Bearded Wins
A lovely gentleman by the name of Karl-Heinz Hille has his beard to thank for his fame. He has a record eight wins at the World Beard and Moustache Championships and has been extraordinarily successful so far in making judges fall in love with the style and dash of his noble beard and mustache.
As to be expected, he's been in more than a few record books and looks set to keep winning folks over with those artfully arranged and sweet-looking facial hairs of his. All hail the bearded wonder man!
Largest Rubber-Duck Collection
Most of us don't see any need for rubber ducks, but Charlotte Lee begs to differ with every fiber of her rubber duck-loving being! This lady presumably got bitten by a real duck and started collecting rubber ducks to scare off and teach the feathered ones a lesson they won't ever forget in their grain-nibbling lives! Oh well, now that's a plan!
Her collection frenzy began in 1996, and as of April 2011, she has 5,631 of the cutest rubber ducks and is intent on using these to enliven her life with! Quack quack!
A Larger Than Life Garden Gnome Collection
Gnomes don't really exist. But plenty of folks can readily go to a courthouse and swear to have seen some and had tea, plus a discussion of affairs with the tiny fellas! Take the bespectacled Anna Atkin here, who has what she calls a "Gnome Reserve" located in England. There as of early 2011, can be found all of 2,042 gnomes bearded to the nines and dressed in their best outfit. That's quite a sight!
Is visiting this "reserve" on your bucket list? It should be, because you might stumble across the gnome of your dreams!
Most Number of Gurning Wins
Merry old England was quite the place, and it's a pity cameras were not around then so people could record stuff! Anyway, fairs were pretty common then, with one known as the Egremont Crab Fair being established around 1267 and regarded as one of the world's oldest. This fair was and still is the site of an ancient sport known as "Gurning," otherwise known as making a face.
Face it, this is not an easy sport, though an old lady called Anne Woods has been able to win a record 27 World Gurning Championship titles between 1977 and 2010. Fancy facing her?
Selling Ice Cream For Over 6 Decades!
Is there anyone who hates ice cream? Speak up, and we will stop this planet so you can get off it! Seriously, ice cream is one exquisite pile of deliciousness that most humans love to the moon and back again. That love and the need to make a good buck appear to have been what drove Alan Granz to become an ice-cream seller. He began his career back in 1947 at the age of 10 and has been selling the sweet stuff for over 67 years.
You just got to wonder how much temptation he faces on the daily not to open his mouth wide and eat up his wares!
The Quickest Handstand Doggo
Certain canines are born unique – some are strong enough to catch the prey, while others can climb a tree like it's nothing. But even with all those magical skills, there are some breeds that literally defy common sense, and Konjo is among those sub-species.
Born as the combination of Papillion, Jack Russell, and Chihuahua, Konjo has developed a unique skill that most breeds don’t have: running on the print paws Apparently, the dog also excels with that ability, to the extent that it is able to achieve a world record for the fastest handstand 5-meter run!
Fastest Bottle-Opener Parrot
How smart can a parrot be? Super intelligent for a bird, definitely! The species are among the most easily-trained animals, as they are clever enough to execute various human tasks, from mimicking people’s voices to opening canned drinks. Fun fact – parrots are able to unclutter the tins very fast, even exceeding the average human speed!
There is always the best among the best, and the title of the fastest canned drinks opener is held by a parrot called Zac the Macaw. As implausible as it may seem, the bird can snatch the tins unbelievably quick: 35 cans in only one minute!
A Concert Below Sea Level? Yes, Please!
While most musicians were competing for breaking the biggest gross album selling and the largest concert attendance achievements, this group called The Shaft Bottom Boys didn't care about that. Instead, they tended to pursue such an unusual world record called the Deepest Underground Concert, and the band apparently nailed it!
At first glance, the record seems quite inferior compared to others, but truthfully, it is no less complicated. To successfully organize the performance, the band not only has to attain permission to create a stage in a middle of a mine cave, but they also need to adjust the instruments properly due to the earth's pressure.
A 70-Layer Dip For The Super Bowl!
In January 2020, Bush’s Beans decided to create something extraordinary for celebrating the Super Bowl contest and increasing brand awareness. They made the biggest dip ever, containing 70 different layers, just like a cake. As we all can see, that crazy attempt came out fruitful, as the Guinness Records enthroned the masterpiece as a new record holder!
What happened after the coronation was no less impressive. Rather than throwing everything away, the company decided to share the dips with the local charity organization so that everybody could taste the delicacies. An enterprise with an angel heart indeed!
The Most Devoted Movie-Goer
Joanne Connor was only an ordinary middle-aged woman before, but her life changed after the biopic of Bohemian Rhapsody came out on the big screen. She was captivated with the movie and spent the next few months revisiting the cinema for a re-watch. Believe it or not – she even attained a title from the Guinness Book of World Records for this, with a total of 108 times of movie screening!
This case also makes us realize a thing - the persona of Freddy Mercury is so mythical. Even after his departure, numerous people are still getting enchanted with his beautiful voice and on-stage personality. Well, that’s how a legend should be.
The Longest Plank
Many people often say that one cannot do anything after reaching senescence due to deteriorating physical conditions. Yet, George Hood can prove that the theory is incorrect, not just once but twice! At 53 years old, he successfully broke the longest plank record with a one-hour record time.
George indeed lost the record a few years later, yet he re-challenged the time again in 2020. As expected, he managed to get it back with a whopping 8-hour record, which was shocking, especially after knowing that the athlete was 62 years old!
Swimming the Longest Duration Under Ice
Some people have a hard time figuring out their purpose in life, even in their 50s. And there are inspirational individuals like this woman who is not just following her childhood dream of becoming a swimmer, but she is also breaking world records at a tender age.
Amber Fillary got her name in the Guinness World Records this February for driving in a lake in Norway called Oppsjø. She swam 229.659 feet deep without any fins or a diving suit. We are getting nips here just thinking about the spine chilling cold, and this lady held her breath under the ice water so effortlessly!
