Hugo Weaving - Age 61

After starring in several Australian productions, actor Hugo Weaving became known to Hollywood audiences via The Matrix trilogy where he played Agent Smith. Several other big film projects followed, such as The Lord of the Rings and V for Vendetta.

Hugo was born in Nigeria before his family moved back to the UK, but for almost his entire professional career he has lived in Australia. In fact, he is an Honorary Officer of the Order of Australia! Hugo’s acting range is still landing him big roles today, and he doesn’t show any signs of slowing down any time soon.

Guy Pearce - Age 53

After rising to fame following his performance on the Australian TV series Neighbors as the sensational Mike Young, Guy Pearce was on every director’s radar across Europe and the U.S. Whatever price the star demanded, He got! Pearce's international recognition came after his feature in The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.

The Mayor of East Town star is credited for reviving the album-making culture in Australia’s music industry with a debut album that sold over 800,000 copies in its first week after release. Pearce currently lives in Melbourne, with his partner and fellow performer Carice van Houten. The two have a son together.

Acting came easy for Joel Edgerton, which had the star from a young age believing that he could make a career off it. While the actor initially imagined that he would be an average entertainer, with just enough money to take care of himself and his family, the Star Wars performer has achieved far beyond what he thought would ever be possible.

Because of his role as Wolverine in the X-Men film franchise, Hugh Jackman is one of the most recognizable Australian celebrities worldwide. But he is more than just a big-time movie star, as he is also an accomplished Broadway performer, singer, musician, and producer.

Aside from his role as Wolverine, Hugh has also starred in other films, notably The Greatest Showman, Les Miserables, and The Prestige. At his age, Hugh is still one of the top actors. In 2019, he even went on a musical tour around the world, singing various Broadway and Hollywood songs!

Geoffrey Rush - Age 70

Geoffrey Rush rose to international prominence when his performance in the film Shine earned him an Academy Award. This Queensland native is so far one of the 24 people in the world who have won at least one Oscar, Emmy, and Tony.

Nicole Kidman is one of those humans whose lifestyle makes you wonder what it's like to have it all. With a successful career, a fit body, beauty, brains, and happy marriage, Nicole is pretty hard to keep up with, even if you tried.

The "Dogville" performer, who was previously married to Tom Cruise, often made it clear that she wanted to be known for her contribution to the arts and not for simply being someone's wife. Kidman was recently ranked by the New York Times in the top five list of greatest actors of the 21st century to this point.

Ben Mendelsohn- Age 52

Yet, what's most impressive is that the diva is currently working on not one but three upcoming movies! We can hardly wait to spectate her on-screen brilliance in Lakewood, Infinite Storm, and This is the Night.

A winner of Patrick White Playwright's Award and Griffin Award, 11 plays penned by Brendan have been produced around the globe. The actor is set to star as Captain Mick Scoresby in the forthcoming sci-fi films of the Avatar franchise.

Colin Friels - Age 68

If you have watched the well-known film "Tom White" directed by Alkinos Tsilimidos, you'll remember Colin Friels remarkably playing the lead role. Even at the doorstep of his 70s, the prolific artist maintains a net worth of around $5millions, and no wonder it speaks volumes about his creative genius! Despite suffering from pancreatic cancer, Colin continued to work on his ongoing project Water Rats, until the impact of regular chemotherapies deterred him from doing so. Such was his passion for acting!

Jack Thompson - Age 80

If you're assuming that Jack Thompson has already hung up his boots, you're highly mistaken. From the Australian movie icon's excellent portrayal of Mayor in his last released film Swinging Safari it is evident that age can never deter him from entertaining his beloved audience with his fantastic performances.

In 1968, the then 28-year-old Jack made his debut appearance on stage in The Devils. Since then, he continued to make a name for himself on shows like Sunday Too Far Away and The Club. A winner of Cannes and AFI awards, no wonder this iconic star was inducted into the Australian Film Walk of Fame!

Anthony LaPaglia - Age 62

Can we truly have this list without adding the award-winning actor Anthony LaPaglia? Even in his sixties, the Looking for Alibrandi star has no mind to slow down yet. We've last seen his brilliance as Samuel Mullins in the famous horror movie Annabelle Creation.

Anthony had his first taste of fame in 1987, working in a feature movie Cold Steel, which won him the title role of Frank Nitti in the telefilm Nitti: The Enforcer. The Adelaide-born has managed to bag several prestigious accolades in his stellar film career, including an Emmy and a Golden Globe awards. Fans can hardly wait for Anthony's upcoming film Nitram, to hit the big screen!

Judy Davis - Age 66

With a film career spanning over 40 years, Judy Davis is not your average TV star. While her diversity in her roles has played a part in putting her in the limelight, Davis is famous mostly for playing the fragile and unstable woman.

The Australian actress rose to fame in the 80s when she played the leading role in the film A Passage to India. She also appeared in Woody Allen’s Husbands and Wives and collaborated with him on other subsequent works. Judy is still a powerhouse to date and is a cancer warrior working with Avera McKennan Foundation, having suffered from cancer herself.

Australian TV soap Home and Away star Melissa George became a sensation when she was barely 20 after playing couples with the late Dieter Brummer. Melissa’s role as gritty Angel put her on the map and paved the way for her onscreen career, which has since flourished.

Melissa has appeared in popular shows such as Alias, Charmed, and Grey’s Anatomy. One of her recognitions is the Most Outstanding Actress award given by Logie for her work in The Snap. The brilliant actress now has a family with Jean David Blanc and is still acting, with her most recent role being Margot in Apple TV’s The Mosquito Coast.

Damon Herriman, an actor, and a writer, is famously known for the films Judy & Punch, Mindhunter, and Justified. The Australian actor’s list of films doesn’t end there as he started acting when he was only 5, but his career took a turn around in 2005 when Paris Hilton cast him in Wax.

Damon doesn’t fancy being a public person or care much for social media for someone who is quite chatty and with good looks. Despite his casual demeanor, he takes his work seriously though no wonder he keeps raising the bar! The star has added The underground Railroad to his list, and we are sure it’s quite something!

Jason Clarke - Age 52

Australian actor Jason Clarke is among the list of celebrities who grew up in humble families. Born to a sheep shearer, Clarke opted to pursue an acting career instead, and it completely changed his life. His mint American accent and incredible talent have seen him appear in popular films like Terminator Genisys, Winchester, Brotherhood, and The Aftermath, often as an antagonist.

Still, being over fifty hasn’t slowed Clarke down in the least. If anything, his list of film productions keeps growing by the day, and his stellar performance hasn’t faltered one bit. Talk about flair and resilience coexisting in one man!

David Field - Age 60

Actor and film director David Field landed TV and films roles in various projects as Chopper, Two Hands, and Gettin’ Square. He, later on, made his directional debut with The Combination in 2009. Aside from acting, David has also done advertisements for Oak’s Hungry/Thirsty campaign and is the proud owner of the Yeezy sneakers shoe business.

Nevertheless, it doesn’t seem like being in his 60s is enough reason for slowing down as he is still very much in the scene. David’s latest screen appearance is in Mortal Kombat, and it’s pretty evident he was not playing around with the role.

Jacki Weaver - Age 74

Born as Jacqueline Ruth Weaver, Australian Jacki Weaver is a brilliant actress famous for her appearance in Stoker, The Grudge, Elsewhere, and The Voices. Eventually, the star made her American stage debut with Uncle Vaya in 2011 and hasn't dimmed since.

Some would think the lady would be exhausted at her age, but guess what? Weaver's schedule is still packed with projects! She was the head of the Bloom cast, stars Perpetual Grace, LTD, and is part of the upcoming faith-based drama, Stu. Clearly, Weaver has the energy of a 20-year-old despite being in her seventies!

Vince Colosimo - Age 54

An extensive career in theater, film, and television has put Vince Colosimo on the list of Australia’s most successful TV personalities over the years. Vince first caught the public’s eye in the 1980s on Street Hero and Moving Out. He soon landed on numerous popular films like Chopper.

For his services to the Australian society and film production, the talented actor bagged the Centenary medal in 2001, an honor by the Queen. Most recently, Colosimo was cast on Sunshine and starred in The Second opposite Rachel Blake. It’s unfortunate that Vince is struggling with some issues in his personal life, but we hope he overcomes them soon!

Sam Worthington - Age 44

Sam Worthington has stamped his place in the entertainment world as an actor. Avatar, Hacksaw Ridge, and Man on a Ledge are only some of the films he has starred in. Sam was also a finalist for the James Bond role, proof of how good the guy is!

Worthington once confessed that he had no intention of becoming an actor, but we are grateful it didn’t turn out any other way! Perhaps he would have been a surfer seeing his love for the sport - guess we’ll never really know. For now, we can’t wait to see the man in his forties nail it once more on the thriller Transfusion.

Richard Roxburgh – Age 59

Richard Roxburgh is an exceptionally dextrous actor who has managed to deliver some equally remarkable performances, be it a lead or a supporting role. While he was already famous in Australia, he also became extremely popular in the US for his villainous characters in a string of projects.

When the Moulin Rouge star managed to venture into the Hollywood industry, he gave some of the most iconic acts throughout his three-decade career. Meanwhile, Richard's directorial debut Romulus, My Father, successfully established that he is also a talented director apart from being an outstanding cast.

Noah Taylor - Age 51

Born in London, Noah Taylor debuted with the movie The Year My Voice Broke after he caught the attention of director John Duigan while performing at a theatre in South Yarra. His breakthrough role as a troubled pianist in the movie Shine then brought him immense success and international fame.

Throughout his career, the artist has given many notable performances, both as lead and supporting characters. Noah’s impressive resume includes comedies, action movies, and historical dramas, making him one of the most versatile actors in the industry. When not on-screen, the performer prefers to follow his passion for painting and music.

Claudia Karvan – Age 49

Australian actress Claudia Karvan started her career in 1987 with two of the country’s best directors in the movies Echoes of Paradise and High Tide, and they proved to be fruitful for her. Simon gave many award-worthy performances, but his journey in the industry was like a rollercoaster ride.

Anna Torv – Age 42

Veteran actress Anna Torv amassed for herself a massive recognition, being the voice and figure model of the character Noriko in the video game Heavenly Sword, a role she reprised in its film adaptation in 2014.

Torv's career blossomed more after being selected by producer J.J Abrams to star as the lead protagonist in a Fox science fiction series called Fringe. This role even earned the celebrity four Saturn Awards for Best Actress on Television! In 2020, Torve wrapped up a job playing an FBI consultant in the Netflix drama Mindhunter, and she moved back to Melbourne, where she now enjoys her forties.

Bryan Brown – Age 74

Bryan Brown is one of the most honored and respected actors to come out of Australia. With a career spanning three decades, he was made a member of the Order of Australia for services to the community and the country's film industry.

While he appeared in over eighty film and television projects, both local and abroad, Brown has more than made his mark. Among the numerous hits he starred in are Gods of Egypt, Peter Rabbit, and The Thorn Birds, where he met actress Rachel Ward whom he later married. In addition, the exceptional star has won many awards in his long career that demonstrate his prowess and nothing less!

Paul Hogan – Age 81

Paul Hogan is a brilliant actor who had his first appearance in the 1971 talent program New Faces but rose to stardom as Mick Dundee in the 1986 film Crocodile Dundee, which he co-wrote. The movie got nominated for several awards and won Hogan the 1987 Golden Globes Award for best actor.

As a multi-talented Australian entertainer, he wrote, produced, and starred in many successful movies and dramas. Interestingly, Hogan remains very active in the industry. In 2020, he appeared in The Very Excellent Mr. Dundee, portraying himself as an aging actor with his famous character Dundee now being exploited by others.

Gary Sweet – Age 64

Among performers who have had a very successful acting career is the Australian actor Gary Sweet, famous for his portrayal of Sergeant Mickey in Police Rescue and Steve in Alexandra's Project. He has won multiple awards for his outstanding performances and was also initiated into the Australian Film Walk of Fame in 2011.

While Sweet is known for his television roles, he has also made remarkable appearances in several stage productions and even dabbled into music for a while. With numerous awards under his belt, we can only hope that he continues to bless the entertainment industry with his talent and ingenuity.

Barry Humphries – 87

Barry Humphries dons many a hat. He is an actor, an author, and a comedian all in one. Dame Edna Everage and Sir Les Patterson are his alter-egos for which he has garnered incredible critical acclaim. His ability to seep deep into human characters and motivations has also made him such a successful satirist.

With a career that spans over fifty decades, there is little that Humphries has not achieved. To acknowledge his contributions, he has received national honors both in native Australia and the UK. So as a master of impersonations, Humphries is a true treasure in the world of comedy and satire.

John Howard – 68

Australian actor John Howard began on the stage and has remained loyal to it all these years. As a graduate of the National Institute of Dramatic Art, his love for theatre was embedded deep in his bones, allowing him to ultimately serve as the Associate Director of the Sydney Theatre Company.

It is not that Howard has been completely aloof of cinema as he did foray into films with Mad Max Fury. He also graced television with the medical drama series All Saints. So we daresay say Australia has had a lot to offer regarding the art of acting, with Howard being a prime example.

John Jarratt – 68

One of the precursors of the Australian New Wave, John Jarratt, is recognized as an influential figure in the entertainment industry down south. His portrayal of Mick Taylor in Wolf Creek won such accolades that the role has been reprised twice. His major roles in films such as Picnic at Hanging Rock and Summer City are also equally notable.

Even at this age, he is highly active and constantly working in films, so much so that at least one title is released every year with his name. In addition, Jarratt has the unusual hobby of collecting bones on his farm— a trivia that can’t help but fascinate us.

Shane Jacobson – 51

Rare are the occasions when an actor becomes synonymous with a character that he has portrayed exceptionally well. Such is Shane Jacobson, who is widely popular as the “Dunny Man” for his role as Kenny Smyth in the movie Kenny. His performance even earned him the Best Actor Award from the prestigious Australian Film Institute.

Over the years, Jacobson has survived a packed schedule. Still, he managed to pen his bestseller autobiographical book entitled The Long Road to Overnight Success which was published in 2013. To date, he appears as a judge on Australia’s Got Talent and in numerous feature-length projects.

Lady Crane from the Game of Thrones? Yes, that’s Essie Davis. The actress/musician has become a fan’s favorite due to her impressive roles in The Babadook, Lambs of God, Miss Fischer’s Murder Mysteries, and many others.

Davis is married to Justin Kurzel, and the couple has a set of twins. She has a couple of nominations and awards in her name. From her successful career, she has been able to amass a net worth of around worth $2 million. As rare as this is in the celebrity world, she distances herself from gossip and controversies by keeping a low profile. She has both beauty and brains, doesn’t she?

When she’s not in our living rooms entertaining us, she enjoys drawing, writing, and recording songs. One interesting fact about her is she was awarded a Green Card for “Person of Extraordinary Ability”. This win is without including her double-jointed fingers!

Being Ray Wise’s look-alike isn’t the only fascinating thing about Australian actor John Noble. His role in Sleepy Hollow, The Lord of the Rings, and others have earned him awards and nominations. He has a fortune worth $3 million, yet he starred in his first film at 40.

Noble is a family man. He is married with two children, Daniel and actress Samantha Noble. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, it seems. His hobbies include narration, music, and painting. Besides acting, he does philanthropic causes. He is the founder of a charity organization, Noble Bones that aids create awareness on osteoporosis. Noble has earned his name!

Craig McLachlan - 55 years

With over 30 years in the limelight, Craig McLachlan is not only famous in Australia but also in the U.K. He is a musician, songwriter, agent, and actor. The most popular roles Craig has appeared in are, The Neighbors and Home and Away. The Star's character in The Doctor Blake Mysteries earned him the desired Gold Logie for Most Popular Actor. A title he has defended three times, if we may add.

Australian David Gulpilil's talents in acting and dancing led him to be scouted by British director Nicholas Roeg. In his autobiographical documentary entitled My Name is Gulpilil, the Yolngu native talked about his younger days cloaked in the traditional way of life. Additionally, his skills as a ceremonial dancer made him stand out and find opportunities in acting.

A sixteen-year-old Gulpilil was given a remarkable role in the 1971 movie Walkabout, and he brilliantly stood up to the challenge. Unfortunately, as of 2019, the actor has retired to public life following his lung cancer diagnosis.
