New Virgin Voyages Fares Offer Base, Essential & Premium Choices
Virgin Voyages is flipping the script on cruise pricing. Starting October 7, 2025, their new “Voyage Fair Choices” system gives you more control over what you pay and what you get. It is a bold, airline-style move, but without the surprise fees and fine print. The change affects Sea Terrace cabins and below, and it is all about letting travelers choose how much flexibility and perks they want upfront.
This new model brings in three fare tiers – Base, Essential, and Premium. Each tier includes different levels of flexibility, Wi-Fi access, and perks. One big shift is how service gratuities are handled.
Now, you will see the charge as a separate line when booking.
Base Fare
Virgin Voyages knows not everyone wants the extras. Some people just want a great deal and a solid room with ocean views. The Base fare is made for them. It is the most budget-friendly tier but comes with zero flexibility. No changes, no refunds, no switching names or dates.

Virgin Voyages / IG / If your plans are locked in and you are cool without fancy perks, the Base Fare is the best bang for your buck.
You still get the essentials, like access to top-notch dining, workout classes, and the usual “Always Included” vibe Virgin Voyages is known for. But your dining reservation window opens just 15 days before sailing. And Wi-Fi? It is basic, good enough for social media and messages, but don’t plan on streaming shows or video calling your dog back home.
Essential Fare
The Essential tier is what most past Virgin Voyages sailors will recognize. It is the middle ground, more flexible than Base, not as loaded as Premium. If your plans might shift or you want a little wiggle room, Essential has your back.
You can change dates and even adjust names for Sailors 2 through 4, and you will get Future Voyage Credit for canceled plans.
This fare opens dining reservations 45 days out, giving you a better shot at snagging the times and places you want. The Wi-Fi is also a step up. Classic Wi-Fi lets you make audio calls and stay connected with fewer hiccups.
Premium Fare
Want it all? The Premium tier brings you the most freedom, the most perks, and the most convenience. You can change dates or cancel for Future Voyage Credit, and all names on the booking can be swapped. It is ideal for planners, groups, or anyone who values peace of mind.
Perks stack up fast here. Dining reservations open a full 60 days in advance, which used to be a suite-only perk. You get Premium Wi-Fi for two devices—stream all you want. Plus, you will get a Bar Tab, which means drinks are covered before you even step on board. There is also a priority support line, so help is always just a quick call away.

Virgin Voyages / IG / Service gratuities are now shown as their own line during booking. No, you are not paying more. It is just clearer.
You can pre-pay them for a discounted rate of $20 per sailor, per day. Or, pay onboard at $22 per day. Either way, there is no surprise tipping required during the cruise. It is still the same no-pressure, no-expectations style Virgin Voyages is famous for.
So, the transparency is a smart move. You see exactly where your money goes. And it helps travelers budget better. Whether you pay upfront or later, it is your choice.
